Brother's setup tips for SE-series machines
- Cut stabilizer larger than the embroidery frame.
- For thin fabrics like organdy or lawn, or napped fabrics like terry cloth or corduroy, use water-soluble stabilizer. On thick towels, put water-soluble stabilizer on top.
- Use the included pre-wound bobbin with 60 weight embroidery bobbin thread, or a recommended 60 weight bobbin thread.
- Use embroidery thread intended for the machine.
Brother's fabric chart is a good starting point: one cut-away or adhesive tear-away for sweatshirts, one tear-away for denim and canvas, and a water-soluble topping on terry. It says to test-sew a sample. More in our stabilizer guide.
